Of course it is a bit more difficult than learning to swim. You will first need at least one qualified instructor, you will have to attend some ground school and then you will have to go to a drop zone for the real thing. To know if there is a drop zone nearby, check the list of local organizations.

Depending on the learning method, the ground school varies greatly in duration. Static line and accelerated freefall require several hours of initial preparation before the first jump. The ground training before a tandem jump is much shorter (about 30 mins).

Sounds difficult? Not at all! Most skydivers are helpful and friendly. Your instructor will probably arrange most of the practical details for you.
